After a meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, reports of the meeting going well with LaMarcus Aldrdige started to surface. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as well as planned.

According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times, Aldridge will not be signing with the Lakers:

Heading into their meeting with Aldridge on Tuesday night, the Lakers brass were highly optimistic they’d be able to convince the veteran forward to sign with the team. Although Aldridge seemed to be seriously considering landing in Los Angeles, the lure of signing with the San Antonio Spurs might have been too much to pass up on.

As of right now, Aldridge hasn’t made a decision on which team he will be signing with. Those still in the running include the San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.

With Aldridge seemingly no longer an option for the Lakers, the team will likely focus all their efforts to signing Greg Monroe or DeAndre Jordan. Monroe may be the more realistic option for Los Angeles with Jordan favored to either return to the Clippers or sign with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers will met with Monroe early on Wednesday and will meet with Jordan later in the day.
