Lakers News: Leandro Barbosa Potential PG Target For Lakers

The backcourt is an absolute mess for the Los Angeles Lakers right now. Steve Blake’s injury has the storied franchise scrambling for a solution and that solution may turn out to be veteran combo guard Leandro Barbosa. Former Lakers Darius Morris and Chris Duhon have been mentioned as potential fits, but Barbosa may be the best of the bunch.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com, Barbosa is on a short list of candidates to help fill the void in the backcourt:

While the Lakers’ front office attempts to address the void left in the backcourt with Blake, Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar all out with injuries, Kobe Bryant will shoulder the load at point guard. Bryant will be the floor general moving forward with Xavier Henry coming off the bench and Jodie Meeks starting at shooting guard.

Although Bryant may be able to handle the switch to the point for the time being, a move may be needed with the Lakers more than likely struggling to stay afloat in a highly competitive Western Conference without Farmar, Nash and Blake.
