Lakers News: Magic Johnson Says Lakers Have No Chance To Win

As things continue to get worse for the Lakers, it seems that even the eternal optimist (and unabashed Laker apologist) Magic Johnson is ready to throw in the towel. Johnson, who said the Lakers would defeat the Spurs in six games before their series began, has changed his tone drastically since the team lost about half their roster to injuries.

Johnson posted his thoughts on Twitter on Thursday;

While Johnson is obviously disappointed in the injury issues the team has dealt with this season, he did remain positive and reassuring, stating that sometimes these things happen and are simply beyond control.

No matter what happens with the Lakers there’s no question this season will be looked back on with awe. It’s been almost surreal seeing the team go from preseason championship favorites to possibly getting swept in the first round of the playoffs. As a former player, Johnson understands this better than most. Still, when the Lakers see one of their biggest fans say the team has no chance to advance, that can be a bit disheartening.

L.A. will get their first chance to prove Magic wrong on Friday night when they host the Spurs in what is now a must-win Game 3.
