Lakers News: Metta World Peace Does The Weather And Talks Lakers

Denver Nuggets v Los Angeles Lakers - Game SevenIt wouldn’t be an offseason if Metta World Peace wasn’t doing something whacky. The Lakers forward took to Fox Channel 11 last night to try his hand at being a weather man.

While World Peace struggled mightily at doing the weather, the conversation quickly turned to what he thought about Kobe Bryant versus Michael Jordan. The debate has waged on this entire week through the media as excerpts of Phil Jackson’s new book suggest that he would take Jordan over Bryant.

World Peace didn’t offer an opinion, but said something else is more important:

“It’s about the wins,” said World Peace.  “It’s not about the individual.”

While World Peace had a down season, averaging 12.4 points per game, his toughness and confidence in the team can’t be undervalued.

The NBA free agency period doesn’t start until July 1, but World Peace took the chance to talk about how important Dwight Howard re-signing is:

“It takes chemistry. It takes teamwork. It takes deferring,” he said. “It definitely takes Dwight Howard to come back.”

This might be World Peace’s most difficult offseason in recent memory as there are rumors that he might opt-out of his contract or even be amnestied by the Lakers. If last season was in fact his last season as a Laker, we’re going to miss his impromptu attempts at being a weather man.

Here is the video evidence of World Peace doing the weather last night.
