Lakers News: Metta World Peace Game-Time Decision For Tuesday

The Los Angeles Lakers received some surprising news on Monday afternoon with veteran forward Metta World Peace listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets according to Serena Winters:

Initially, World Peace was set to miss six to eight weeks with a torn meniscus in his left. The injury required immediate surgery and was considered to be serious enough to end the veteran’s season. Not only would World Peace miss the rest of the season, but might have played his last game for the Lakers with the team unlikely to retain the forward.

Head coach Mike D’Antoni also commented on World Peace’s status via Sam Amick of USA Today:

Although World Peace appears to be ready to return and willing to take the risk after undergoing surgery only 18 days ago, it still remains uncertain whether or not he’ll play against the Hornets. If the forward feels pain, the Lakers will keep him out, but if not, World Peace will be on the floor.
