Metta World Peace will continue to defer to his agent about his player option on his contract this off-season.
According to Mark Medina, Metta is still hanging out on the fence about his Laker future.

As Metta does not want to make an emotional decision to come back to the Lakers or not, one thing is for certain, wherever he chooses to go, he wants to compete for a championship. In an interview with our own Serena Winters yesterday, Metta was asked if he had thought about his option yet.
“I just want to make sure that we focus on winning a championship. I’m working hard this summer, I’m taking some time off to go on vacation, have a good time, then it’s time to get back to training camp in June, and get back to work.”
Metta has until June 25 to decide whether he wants to excerise his $7.7 million player option or opt out of his contract. According to Mark Medina those close to Metta say he will exercise his option to remain with the Lakers.
Though Metta said he and his agent haven’t finalized what he will do w/ contract, those close to Metta believe he will exercise his option

Metta’s energy last season was something that the Lakers could build off of for next year. At times it seemed as though he was the only one that truly cared about the defensive side of the ball along with Kobe. If the Lakers lose Metta and Dwight Howard in the same off-season, the Lakers lose their best two defensive players and again are starring at another season of disappointing defense.
