Lakers News: Mike D’Antoni Says Steve Nash ‘Doubtful’ For Tuesday

After Steve Nash was forced to leave Saturday’s game between the Lakers and Kings after just two minutes of play, the team isn’t certain how much they’re going to get from their 39-year-old point guard for the rest of the season. With just eight games remaining, Nash may have trouble staying on the floor.

At team practice today, Mike D’Antoni told Lakers Nation’s Serena Winters that he doesn’t expect Nash to suit up Tuesday when the Lakers take the floor against the Dallas Mavericks.

Even though D’Antoni won’t officially say Nash is out, it certainly doesn’t sound encouraging.

Nash, who has only played 50 games this season due to a variety of injuries (mainly a broken leg suffered in the second game of the season), is averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 assists per game on the season.

If Nash does sit, the team will be down another starter, as Metta World Peace is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.
