On Friday night before the Lakers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center, Los Angeles general manager Mitch Kupchak mentioned that the team wasn’t going to be making any moves anytime soon.

During an interview with ESPN Los Angeles, Kupchak stated that the Lakers aren’t looking at any specific free agent signings in the near future.

“We’re in a different time frame right now. You’re talking about a period of time when there was free agency and everybody was scrambling to put together their rosters and sign players and deal with the issues that were out there. We’re into the season now, so generally speaking, when you’re into the season things slow down and people typically want to see how their team looks. So, without being specific, that’s where we are.”

The Lakers roster is already full, meaning there isn’t an open slot unless the team moves a player already on the roster.

If the Lakers do make a player move this season it will most likely be via trade. But, as Kupchak stated nearly a month ago, that is still a work in progress.
