Lakers News: Nick Young Believes Lakers Shouldn’t Be Scared Of Heat

Nick Young
Nobody expected the Los Angeles Lakers to beat the defending NBA champions, especially not on their home court. The game turned out to be closer than most expected, but Nick Young believes the Lakers should have gotten the victory tonight against the Miami Heat.

Young came off the bench and contributed with 19 points and three rebounds, but hit some tough shots down the stretch to keep the Lakers within striking distance. After the game, Young felt the Lakers could have played a tougher game against the Heat, but the championship rings might have intimidated some of the Laker players tonight, via Lakers Nation’s Serena Winters:

Young also mentioned that LeBron James is difficult to play against because he can easily capitalize on your mistakes. Young is a very confident basketball player, and although on paper the Heat are much better, on any given night anything can happen. The Lakers could have won the game tonight, but they could not take advantage of some opportunities late in the game.

This is possibly one of the least talented Lakers team in franchise history, but they are capable of winning some games. Even some games that they probably shouldn’t win. Toughness is something that has to come from within, and the Lakers could have used more of it tonight, but they let LeBron James and company escape with a win.
