Heading into the NBA off-season, the Los Angeles Lakers face a lot of uncertainty with the majority of the players on the roster hitting the free agent market. Arguably one of the best players on the squad, Nick Young, has the option to become a free agent and it appears he will become one.

With Young having a career year with the Lakers, it was a foregone conclusion that he’d opt-out of his deal rather than simply taking the $1.2 million he was set to be paid.
Fortunately, Young hasn’t ruled out a return to the Lakers and is willing to take a hometown discount to remain here. Young has enjoyed every minute of his time in Los Angeles and wants to re-sign with the team, but also wants to be paid well for his services.
Now that Young has shown that he’s still a force to be reckoned with offensively and more than willing to come off the bench, the veteran will likely receive numerous offers this summer.
Although many teams are likely to come calling, there’s a chance that Young re-signs with the team if the right offer from the team is made. It is unclear what the level of interest is in Young, but it’s safe to say he’ll receive an offer from the team.
