After missing 17 of the last 18 games with a knee injury, Nick Young appears to be ready to get back on the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
Young participated in practice all week while testing his knee without any setbacks. As a result, Young is expected to play against Washington according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:
Nick Young made it through the week of practice without a hitch and will come off the bench Friday against Washington

The veteran guard/forward attempted to come back a little too early against the Brooklyn Nets back on Feb. 23 playing 20 minutes. Young said he just didn’t feel right in his return against the Nets and therefore sat out the next 11 games.

Although it appeared that Young’s season had potentially come to an end, the sixth man vowed to return at some point before the end of the season and seems to be making good on that promise.
Unfortunately, the final 15 games may be the last in Young’s stint with the Lakers. The journeyman has indicated a desire to return and claims to be a “Laker fan for life,” but he may not be willing to accept the one-year, $1.2 million on his player option for next season.
