The Lakers played from behind for the majority of the game, and couldn’t find ways to catch the Kings. Nick Young expressed some displeasure with the losing, according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Despite the loss, Young is already looking ahead to the next game.

The Lakers felt they had a tough time getting foul calls from the referees. Throughout the game, many Lakers believed their shots to be altered by excessive contact by the Kings. With 7:54 left in the fourth quarter, Nick Young received a technical foul after he felt Rudy Guy fouled him on a missed layup attempt.
Frustration began to sink in for Young and the Lakers who have been getting tired with the constantly losing. Things have not gone the Lakers’ way this season, but the team still believes there is plenty to play for. Young has rallied his teammates into becoming “player haters” and ruin playoff chances for other teams.
As the season winds down, the Lakers will attempt to avoid being the worst team since the franchise moved to Los Angeles. Six of the final seven games will be against teams battling for playoff positioning. The next Laker game is against the Dallas Mavericks Friday night.
The Mavericks are currently tied with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Phoenix Suns for the final two playoff spots in the Western conference. Should the Lakers come away with a win Friday, they could put a damper on the Mavericks’ playoff hopes.
