While most are focused on the recovery of Kobe Bryant from his torn Achilles, Pau Gasol is also recovering from a knee procedure to help treat tendinitis in both of his knees. Today, Gasol let people know that he is making progress in that recovery via Twitter:

Gasol is still expected to be sidelined from basketball activities for another two months, but the fact that he is off crutches is an encouraging sign nonetheless. Couple that with the news that Bryant is set to get his walking boot removed today, and this is turning out to be the best day Laker fans have experienced since the last day of the regular season when they valiantly battled to secure the 7th seed in the Western Conference.

Gasol has been involved in trade rumors almost non-stop since the end of the 2011 season, and it is still unknown whether he will be a part of the Lakers’ future. Gasol is undoubtedly looking to get back on the floor as soon as he can as he experienced his worst season as a pro in the 2012-2013 season, averaging career lows in points, rebounds, and field goal percentage.
