The future remains uncertain for two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol. The Spaniard hits the free agent market in July and appears to be on his way out of Los Angeles with the Lakers possibly not able to re-sign the veteran forward/center.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future with the Lakers, Gasol had his best performance in quite some time on Tuesday night. Gasol lit up the scoreboard against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Staples Center with a season-high 29 points.

As a result of the impressive performance offensively, Gasol moved ahead of Jerry Stackhouse and Joe Dumars on the NBA’s all-time scoring list according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

Gasol will become an unrestricted free agent this summer and is looking forward to the prospect of controlling his own fate for the first time in his NBA career.
The veteran forward/center has constantly been mentioned in trade rumors over the last three years that has become increasingly frustrating for the longtime Laker, but he’s endured and now will decide where he’ll play on his terms.
So although Gasol’s future with the Lakers remains up in the air, the future Hall of Famer continues to rack up the stats putting him in elite company.
