Lakers News: Pau Gasol Questionable For Tuesday Against Knicks

The Los Angeles Lakers put an end to their losing ways Sunday night by defeating the Orlando Magic 103-94. Jordan Hill led the way for the Lakers by scoring a career-high 28 points while also grabbing 13 rebounds. The Lakers were in need of Hill’s production, especially in the second half as Pau Gasol stayed in the locker room after the intermission due to dizziness. After the game, Gasol was still feeling nauseous and may not play in the team’s next game on Tuesday.

Gasol will spend Sunday night in the hospital, according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

If Gasol cannot play, the Lakers might use Chris Kaman to help fill the void, according to Winters:

Gasol has been playing well recently. Over the last ten games, he has been scoring nearly 20 points while shooting 50 percent from the field. During Sunday’s first half, Gasol helped the Lakers to a lead by contributing six points and three assists. While the Lakers were able to hold off the Magic without Gasol, they may face a more difficult challenge in a matchup with the Knicks on Tuesday. The Knicks will be coming into the game playing some of their best basketball of the year, and the Lakers will need as much help as they can get. The Lakers may also be without Steve Nash and Xavier Henry, who will see a hand specialist Monday.

D’Antoni said Kaman has been suffering from a sore foot, which has limited his appearances recently. Kaman has only appeared in 34 games this season while averaging 9.9 points and 5.6 rebounds on 18.4 minutes per game. More details should be available Monday after Gasol’s hospital visit.
