Lakers News: Pau Gasol Says Team Offense Must Be Less Kobe-Focused

NBA: Indiana Pacers at Los Angeles LakersLast night’s Lakers loss to the Milwaukee Bucks was the latest of a season of inexplicable losses that have this team on the verge of missing the postseason. As the team continues to unravel, whether through injuries or just poor play, nothing seems to work correctly for L.A. for an extended period of time.

Following the loss, forward Pau Gasol mentioned the team’s offense, particularly Kobe Bryant, as one of the reasons for the team’s struggles in Milwaukee, according to Kevin Ding of the O.C. Register.

Bryant took 17 shots on Thursday, making six of them, but also made it to the free throw line for 20 attempts. While that is generally a good thing, on nights like this it further indicates the fact that he dominated the ball.

Ultimately Kobe left Milwaukee with bone spurs in his left foot, and the Lakers limped back to California preparing for a showdown on Saturday with the Kings.

Still, for those looking to manufacture more drama (as if this team needs any), Gasol did mention to Steve Aschburner of NBA.com after the game that he’s hopeful Kobe and the rest of the team can get healthier heading into Sacramento.

“Hopefully Kobe will be healthy for the next game. Steve will be healthy. I’ll get healthier and we’ll continue to move forward.”
