Just when it seemed as though Pau Gasol would return from his right foot injury, the star forward faced yet another setback.
ESPN reports that the Spaniard felt some soreness in his injured right foot following a workout on Saturday, something that could prevent him from playing in the Lakers’ game on Sunday. There was a chance that Gasol could make his return to the court against the Kings, but his soreness may prevent him from doing so.

Although this roadblock could be a very minor one in Gasol’s recovery process, he will see a foot specialist on Sunday.
Pau Gasol experienced soreness in his injured right foot Saturday after participating in a workout at the Lakers training facility, according to a Lakers spokesman. He will be examined Sunday by Dr. Kenneth Jung, a foot specialist, and a further update will be given Sunday before the Lakers play the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.
Gasol has been out with a torn plantar fascia in his right foot since Feb. 5, and was initially ruled out for six to eight weeks. In that time, the Lakers have made a strong push for the Western Conference playoffs, and are battling the Utah Jazz for the final spot. There is no question that the team has improved greatly and it will only get better with Gasol in the lineup.
