After suffering a toe injury in the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, Pau Gasol’s status was uncertain for the matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
Fortunately, Gasol will play regardless of the injury according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:
And the conclusion of the Pau Gasol toe news is that he will play tonight.

Over the past few weeks, Gasol has dealt with injuries and trade rumors. Although it seemed like Gasol was on his way out when the Andrew Bynum trade talk kicked into high gear, the Spaniard was able to stay put with the Cleveland Cavaliers choosing to go with the Chicago Bulls offer of Luol Deng and draft picks.
Although Gasol will take the floor against the Cavs on Tuesday, the Lakers will be without Xavier Henry, Kobe Bryant, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and Steve Nash. Henry was thought to possibly be able to suit up against Cleveland, but will miss tonight’s game and tomorrow’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
