Lakers News: Robert Sacre Reassigned to D-League

The Los Angeles Lakers have sent rookie center Robert Sacre back to the NBA D-League, for his third stint with the D-Fenders. Sacre does not see a lot of playing time for the Lakers, and he is mostly known for his cheering on the bench.

Sacre has shown some great promise in his limited playing time, but the Lakers would like to develop his talent more in a league that will give him more opportunities. Mark Medina reports that Sacre will suit up for the D-Fenders for their game tonight against Sioux Falls.

The Lakers reassigned the seldom-used second round draft pick from Gonzaga to the D-Fenders Saturday and will suit up for tonight’s game at 6:30 p.m. against the Sioux Falls at the Lakers’ practice facility in El Segundo. This marks Sacre’s third assignment with the Lakers’ Development League affiliate.

The Lakers have brought Sacre back to the team before and there is a good chance he makes his return to the Lakers in the coming weeks. This season with the Lakers, Sacre has averaged 4.2 minutes, 0.5 points and 0.8 rebounds per game.
