The new-look roster filled with superstar talent has failed to live up to expectations after the first 20 games of the season, but may see some light at the end of the tunnel with Steve Nash possibly returning to the floor during the upcoming four-game road trip for the Lakers.
Nash’s return has been all anyone can talk about over the last month or so with the Lakers struggling to reach their potential with head coach Mike D’Antoni at the helm in Los Angeles.
D’Antoni has been anxiously awaiting the return of his former and current floor general with expectations of a drastic turnaround for the team once the two-time NBA MVP is finally healthy enough to return after suffering the leg fracture injury in the second game of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers.
It remains to be seen whether or not Nash is the missing piece to the championship puzzle in Los Angeles, but D’Antoni and the Lakers’ front office is counting on it and Pau Gasol’s future with the Lakers may also be hanging in the balance.
