Lakers News: Steve Blake out Friday vs. Cavaliers

After suffering a fracture in the cartilage between his ribs on Tuesday night against the Phoenix Suns, Steve Blake will be sitting out Friday’s game between the Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center.

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Blake will sit out Friday and is listed as day to day. However, Trudell also mentioned that head coach Mike Brown is expecting Blake to sit out Saturday night against the Los Angeles Clippers as well.

With Blake sidelined the Lakers are expected to use rookie Darius Morris in his place. Morris, who sat out the first 11 games of the season, finally got into the game on Wednesday and scored his first career points.
