During Tuesday night’s victory over the Phoenix Suns, Lakers reserve point guard Steve Blake suffered an apparent injury to the midsection and was removed from the game.
Blake was well enough to play Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, but aggravated the injury during the game.
Now it’s being revealed that an MRI has discovered a costochaondral fracture. Essentially, it is a fracture of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the sternum.
Blake is currently listed as day-to-day and will be re-evaluated in the next few days.
This is startling news for a Lakers team that is already thin at the point guard position.
