The end of a Hall-of-Fame-caliber career may be drawing near for two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash, but he’s not going to leave the game without leaving his mark.

Nash passed current Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson on the NBA’s all-time assist list on Tuesday with his fifth assist against the Houston Rockets. Nash now has 10,335 assists in his career and will go down as one of the best to ever play the point guard position.

Once becoming a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2012, it didn’t take long before Steve Nash’s body started to breakdown. Nash collided with first-year point guard Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers in the second game of the 2012-13 NBA season and missed 32 games as a result.

The injury problems carried over to the 2013-14 NBA season for Nash with a nerve issue in his back becoming the biggest problem for the veteran. Although Nash has struggled to stay on the floor with the end drawing near, but passing Jackson on the all-time assist list puts him in elite category behind Jason Kidd and John Stockton.
