Because of this, Nash will be honored on May 18 by Sports Spectacular, receiving their Spirit Award, as reported by the LA Daily News’ Mark Medina:
Sports Spectacular will honor Nash for the Spirit Award on May 18th at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, an award that highlights Nash’s various philanthropic efforts
No stranger to being honored for charity work, Nash received the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor in 2007.
Nash has opened a number of youth camps and fitness centers throughout Canada, and his BC Grants initiative has raised $800,000 for children in his home province of British Columbia.
Nash will be honored along with recently retired NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez, who will be receiving a lifetime achievement award, and UFC President Dana White, who will receive the visionary award.
