Last season, undrafted rookie forward Black was waived by the Houston Rockets in order to make room for Josh Smith. It didn’t take long before Black found a new home with the Lakers bringing in the rookie to help bolster the frontcourt.

Although no one in Los Angeles knew what to expect from the Kansas product, the rookie made an impression on the Lakers coaching staff. Black played a considerable amount of minutes in the second half of the season and as a result may have a long-term future in Los Angeles.
