The Los Angeles Lakers have picked up the team option in Andrew Bynum’s contract. The 16.1 million dollar pick up means that Bynum will return to the Lakers for the 2012-13 season.
The Lakers have officially picked up Andrew Bynum’s $16.1-million option, according to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times.

Bynum had a breakout season and was named to his first ever All-Star team. He emerged as one of the best centers in the league and the Lakers would have been nowhere if it weren’t for Bynum.

However, even though the Lakers picked up the option don’t be surprised to see the team shop him this off-season for Dwight Howard.
