However, with the Lakers struggling to stay above .500, the team may be looking for Sacre to bring some energy off the bench. At this point it is not clear whether or not Sacre will get a lot of playing time, but he will be on the bench just in case Mike D’Antoni wants him on the court.
EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles Lakers have recalled center Robert Sacre from the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak.
Starting at center for the D-Fenders’ first three games of the season, Sacre averaged 7.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.00 blocks in 27.0 minutes.
Selected by the Lakers in the second round (60th overall pick) of the 2012 NBA draft, Sacre finished his collegiate career at Gonzaga ranked second all-time in school history in career blocks (186), while averaging 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 135 games.
Sacre has played in eight games with the Lakers this season, averaging 0.3 points and 0.3 rebounds in 2.4 minutes. He will join the team in Houston in time for tomorrow night’s game against the Rockets.
