Lakers News: Wes Johnson Has Sprained Tendon In Left Foot

In the Lakers second preseason game against the Denver Nuggets, Lakers newly acquired small forward Wes Johnson left the game with an apparent foot injury. Johnson did not return after heading to the locker room and reports following the game said that Johnson would undergo an MRI on Monday.

After the MRI, it was revealed that Johnson had a strained tendon in his left foot, and has been listed as day-to-day according to the Lakers official Twitter account.

In his first two games with the Lakers, Johnson has struggled to find any kind of groove. He’s a combined two-for-10 with a combined four points in the two games. Johnson has been discussed as a potential starter for the Lakers this season, but hasn’t really shown that he has the talent to fill a starter’s role for the Lakers this season as both Nick Young and Xavier Henry have been much more impressive in their roles thus far.

The Lakers play again on Tuesday night against the Nuggets, it is not clear whether or not Johnson will be able to play again.
