Lakers News: Xavier Henry Dealing With Sore Wrist, X-Rays Negative

UPDATE (12:26 PM): Xavier Henry got an MRI on his wrist and did not practice. He is a game-time decision for Sunday depending on the results according to ESPN LA’s Dave McMenamin:

Steve Nash, Nick Young, and Jordan Hill all returned in tonight’s game after all battling some sort of injury. All three players had solid comebacks in Friday’s game, and Nash had 11 assists in 19 minutes. Despite the return of three healthy Lakers, other players seem to be battling other injuries. Xavier Henry has been making a strong comeback since he returned from a knee injury earlier this month. Although head coach Mike D’Antoni suggested that Henry is still dealing with pain, he seems to be dealing with another injury.

According to LakersNation.com’s Serena Winters, Henry was dealing with a sore wrist during Friday’s game:

Although the X-rays came back negative, Henry’s sore wrist seems to be enough of a problem for further testing to see what the root of the problem is.

On Friday night, Henry played 23 minutes and finished with 12 points, three rebounds, and two steals in a loss to the Washington Wizards. Although he is getting an MRI on Saturday, Henry seems to be optimistic and it is likely he will be back out on the court on Sunday.

On the season so far, Henry is averaging 10.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. After dealing with the knee injury for two months, hopefully Henry will be able to play in the Lakers’ final 14 games of the season.
