Lakers Podcast: Winning Streak, Lonzo Ball’s Injury, Trade Rumors, & A New Signing
Lonzo Ball, Larry Nance Jr, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are riding high on a four-game winning streak, their longest of the season. The Lakers Nation Podcast with Trevor Lane and Hannah Kulik breaks down how they have been able to accomplish this feat, and how they will have to adapt with both Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball ailing.

Ingram and Ball both picked up injuries against the Dallas Mavericks (Ingram a sprained ankle and Ball a sprained knee), which has left them questionable to play against the Memphis Grizzlies.

To help shore up the backup point guard position, the Lakers officially signed Gary Payton II to a two-way contract that became available when they waived Vander Blue.

We break down what Payton II brings to the team and explain why it may be a bit of a questionable signing given the Lakers’ need for outside shooting.

Additionally, rumors have surfaced recently suggesting that head coach Luke Walton may be on the hot seat and that the team is eyeing former Grizzlies coach David Fizdale to replace him. Should Walton’s job be in jeopardy, or should the Lakers give him time to grow into his role?

The trade deadline is sneaking up on us, and with Lakers players always in the headlines, we discuss three players who have all been rumored to be on the move. Will the Lakers actually pull the trigger, or will they wait until summer and hope that their leverage doesn’t decrease?
