The Los Angeles Lakers might be on the verge of making a deal before the NBA trade deadline. Four-time NBA All-Star Pau Gasol has been rumored on his way out via trade, but now it may be Jordan Hill on his way out before Feb. 20.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Yahoo Sports, the Lakers have discussed sending Hill to the Brooklyn Nets:
Los Angeles, Brooklyn have discussed Jordan Hill deal into the Nets' Disabled Player Exception, league sources tell Yahoo.

This move by the Lakers would be strictly to cut Hill’s salary from the books. No player would be coming to Los Angeles in exchange for Hill. Although this deal has just only been discussed, this is the kind of trade the Lakers appear to be on looking for and it may ultimately come to fruition.
If the Nets and Lakers make this deal, Brooklyn will stand to pay a considerable amount according to Wojnarowski:
Nets have until March 10 to use $5.25M DPE for Brook Lopez injury. With tax hit on Hill $3.5M deal, cost to Nets: $17M. Not an easy sell.

With only a few days left before the buzzer sounds on the trade deadline, the rumors will continue to swirl. Gasol may still be headed out of town regardless of if the Lakers trade Hill or not.
Needless to say, discussions will be ongoing for the Lakers and other teams in terms of trades potentially going down before the deadline.
