Heading into free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers had high hopes of landing an All-Star player with their $24 million in cap space. Unfortunately for the franchise, these All-Stars either remained with their teams or signed elsewhere.

With the top players in this year’s free agency already making their decisions, the Lakers will have to look elsewhere. According to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, Kosta Kofous is on their ‘radar’ in Day 4 of free agency:

While Kofous is not a well-known name, he was a solid backup for Marc Gasol and the Memphis Grizzlies this past season. Per 36 minutes, Kofous is averaging a double-double in his career and will be available after the Grizzlies signed Brandon Wright.

Like Ed Davis this past season, the Lakers would provide Kofous with an opportunity to play consistent minutes.
