NBA Rumors: Luke Walton Not Entertaining Head Coaching Offers
Kobe Bryant Wants Steve Kerr To Win Coach Of The Year Over Luke Walton

Heading into the 2015-16 NBA season, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr took an indefinite leave of absence to rehabilitate his back. As a result, former Los Angeles Lakers champion Luke Walton was named the interim head coach and led them to a 39-4 record.

With the best start in NBA history, many teams are expected to pursue Walton to be their head coach. However, he will not entertain head coaching offers until the off-season according to Marc Stein of ESPN:

After the New York Knicks relieved Derek Fisher of his coaching duties, it was expected President Phil Jackson would reach out to his former player. With Walton reportedly waiting until the end of the season, there will be a lot of competition for the former Laker.

For the Lakers, head coach Byron Scott is expected to remain with the franchise for the rest of the season. However, the Lakers are headed to the NBA Draft lottery for the third consecutive season and Scott has been criticized for how he has managed the young core of D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson this season.

UPDATE (February 8, 2016 at 2:56 PM PST): According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Luke Walton has signed coaching representation with Wasserman Media Group:
