Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Lakers selected D’Angelo Russell, Larry Nance Jr. and Anthony Brown at the 2015 NBA Draft. With the franchise passing on Jahlil Okafor, general manager Mitch Kupchak says they will pursue frontcourt players in free agency.

While the Lakers have already been linked to LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Love, current Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol is set to enter free agency as well. However, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times shares Gasol has no interest in signing with Los Angeles:

Marc Gasol has no interest in the Lakers because of the uneasy last few years his brother spent with them, according to numerous people familiar with the situation.

While Pau found great success when he first arrived in Los Angeles with two championships in three consecutive seasons, the later seasons were filled with trade rumors. In 2011, the two-time champion was part of the failed Chris Paul trade and his name seemed to be brought up constantly during the trade deadline.

Although numerous teams will be interested in Pau’s younger brother, he is expected to remain with the Grizzlies. The former Defensive Player of the Year has lived in Memphis since he was a teenager and will receive the most money if he chooses to stay.

Appearing in 81 games, Gasol averaged 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
