Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Dwight Howard Unhappy In L.A.?

Dwight HowardThe Los Angeles Lakers are coming off yet another disappointing loss falling to the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. The team continues to struggle to play consistently well and as a result the trade rumors have started to circulate as they always tend to do around this time of year.

Along with Pau Gasol being mentioned as possibly being on his way out of Los Angeles as the team’s biggest bargaining chip, Dwight Howard is also started to express frustration with the team due to lack of chemistry on the court and lack of friendship off of it. Dwight is a big believer in teams playing well with good relationships off the floor, but hasn’t felt that with the current Lakers squad.

With 50 games left to go in the 2012-13 NBA season, there’s still some time left for this team to mesh and build chemistry. Although the Lakers haven’t lived up to expectations after the blockbuster trades in the off-season and free agent acquisitions, the season isn’t lost just yet with time left to come together and build the chemistry that has been sorely lacking in the first 32 games of the year.

Only time will tell if the new-look Lakers is ultimately a bust. If that ends up being the case, the team might have dropped the ball on an opportunity to the superstar center long-term with Howard potentially choosing to sign elsewhere for less money once officially a free agent next summer.

One thing is for sure moving forward, there’s still time to salvage the season, but sand is quickly falling out of the hour glass and the Lakers’ front office might be forced to make a move or two to help right the ship before the NBA trade deadline next month.
