Tonight the Lakers face the Denver Nuggets who are playing for the second night in a row. The Lakers have a big advantage here, allowed to rest in between games, which was especially beneficial to Kobe who is coming off having the flu. There is good news though; Kobe Bryant did participate in a full practice today. Kobe Bryant managed to score 40 points in the Lakers last loss to the Indian Pacers Tuesday, even while playing sick, which leads me to believe he will impress just as much tonight.
LN has mentioned the past few days what exactly seems to be going awry in Laker land. Since taking over the reins of the most expensive team in basketball, Mike D’Antoni has given fans reasons to be optimistic. Since beginning to implement his system, he is currently 4-3 and the Lakers are sitting barely below .500 with a 7 – 8 record. All the while, the Lakers have been playing with a still-recovering Dwight Howard, an overworked Pau Gasol, and without their first and second string point guards.
Tonight is a new night, and all this adversity can still be reconciled, as the season is still fresh. The wounds aren’t too deep, and Mike D’Antoni appears to have been the right call for L.A. Even Kobe Bryant sees improvement on the horizon; he envisions improved free-throwing, less turnovers, and a stronger team.
Let’s get a win tonight Lakers.
