Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Tyreke Evans and NBA 2K13 Video Game

We’ve gone a few days without a new trade rumor, so it was about time something sprang up!

Kings shooting guard Tyreke Evans may be up for grabs very soon. The Sacramento Kings have has a lackluster performance from their top draft pick out of Memphis these past two years, and after winning Rookie of the Year 3 years ago, Evans has been disappointing in Sacramento. Which has prompted the team to look to get rid of him this coming season.

At 22, Tyreke has a lot of promise. Many factors, apart from on court ability, can affect the outcome of a player’s season. These can include relationships with the team and with players that just don’t mesh well. The Lakers saw struggle this season with Gasol, and part of that was due to the new role as a facilitator instead of just a scorer. I can imagine that potentially picking up a player that hasn’t performed the last two years would be tricky; but, what if coming to LA was just what Evans needed to reboot his career and unleash the potential he has shown before. His youth and versatility make him desirable, and with the Lakers looking to get younger, Tyreke may be a goop pick up.

Kobe Bryant was in the news today for his involvement in the NBA 2K13 Video Game, advertising along side with Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose. The game is not scheduled to be released anytime soon, but the hype following this video game franchise is growing around the new edition.
