Kareem helped coach Andrew Bynum while he was in L.A., and plans on continuing the tradition with Howard. My one word of advice; be careful Dwight. I respect Kareem a lot, but he did sort of speak ill of Bynum at the end of this season.
If you feel like catching up on a little more drama, check out today’s post by Josh Sexton. It was announced last week that Shaq was expecting to have his jersey retired this season. What is interesting is that O’Neal is only the second player to have a retired jersey that didn’t end their career in Los Angeles. The other was Gail Goodrich.
O’Neal is owed recognition, but it’s sad to think that the end of his career with the Lakers was somewhat of a disaster. I appreciated him playing another seven years for different teams too, but even those years were not spectacular (minus his championship with Miami).
Lastly, we wanted to make sure to clear up and alleviate some of your Lakers viewing woes with an explanation of what is happening with the Time Warner Cable deal. Make sure to check out this post if you are feeling at all concerned.
