The Lakers front office hasn’t allowed themselves to rest after the Howard acquisition, which is a good thing. Kobe, Nash, Howard and Gasol… sounds like a dream team. But without a great coaching staff, it would be unlikely to see an L.A. championship this year, which is why the Lakers and head coach Mike Brown may add three assistant coaches in the coming days; this includes Eddie Jordan, Bernie Bickerstaff and Steve Clifford. We will have to wait and see what happens.
Mike Brown of the Lakers is determined to win a championship this year, and a powerhouse coaching staff to match a dynamite team would be the right way to get there. Brown is hungry. After having started as Head Coach last year after an intense lockout which stripped the Lakers of a third of their season, Brown continued coaching through controversial trades, injured players, and a dysfunctional player dynamic. All of that and he still managed to lead his team to a 41-25 (.621) record. Without a doubt the time is now for his coaching career to shine. And with what Mitch Kupchak has delivered, it is a do or die situation this season. I anticipate nothing less than a performance in the finals.
