Lakers Rumors & News Recaps: Return of the Zen Master?

The search for a new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers has officially begun. With the Mike Brown era mercifully over, the Lakers’ front office have set their sights on bringing Phil Jackson back for a third tour.

Apparently, there’s mutual interest from Jackson as he’s seriously considering giving coaching in the NBA one more shot. Although Jackson has already met with the team and is seemingly willing to re-join the Lakers, the 11-time NBA champion has insisted on certain terms in order for him to return to the Lakers’ sideline.

After meeting with the Lakers’ front office on Saturday, Jackson is currently weighing his options and is expected to make a decision on Monday.

As of right now, Phil’s return seems inevitable with the Lakers making him the prime candidate and the focus of their search for a new head coach in Los Angeles.

In the meantime, Bernie Bickerstaff has agreed to stay on as the interim head coach heading into Sunday’s game against the division Sacramento Kings. Bickerstaff may continue beyond tonight’s game depending on Jackson’s decision on Monday.
