After four years with the Los Angeles Lakers, it appears Nick Young has played his last game for the storied franchise. Young has said he is hoping to land with a playoff contender and it seems as though he’s got no shortage of options.
According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News, Young is receiving interest from the vastly upgraded Minnesota Timberwolves:
Add the Minnesota Timberwolves as another team that's interested in Nick Young. Young also has interest from Warriors, Thunder & Pelicans

The Timberwolves have been very aggressive this summer in their attempt to upgrade their roster. Minnesota acquired superstar Jimmy Butler in a trade with the Chicago Bulls on draft day and followed that up by signing Jeff Teague and Taj Gibson in free agency. The team also recently parted ways with Ricky Rubio trading the point guard to the Utah Jazz.
Along with the Timberwolves expressing interest in signing Young to help with their shooting, the Golden State Warriors are also rumored to be in the running to sign the veteran shooter. The New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder are also said to be in the mix for Young’s services.
At this point, a return to the Lakers is highly unlikely. Young is looking to either contend for a title or at least be on a playoff team or cash in on his breakout season under Luke Walton. The Warriors may be the favorites, but the Timberwolves may provide an attractive option for the 32-year-old journeyman.
In 60 games with the Lakers last season, Young averaged 13.2 points per game while shooting 40.4 percent from distance.
