With at least $30 million in cap room next summer, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be a major player in free agency next summer. There are a number of intriguing options at numerous positions, and the Lakers will likely be targeting multiple players to help turn the team around.

One potential target could be Phoenix Suns point guard, Goran Dragic. Dragic has made it known that he will opt-out this summer, but was expected to re-sign with the Suns. Sean Deveney of The Sporting News reports, however, that Dragic will now have an ‘open’ free agency and the Lakers could be a landing spot:
The Lakers also figure to be a potential landing spot for Dragic, a source said — though, to be clear, the Lakers have only about $36 million committed next season with needs at just about every position, and thus are expected to pursue multiple big-name free agents.
The Suns have struggled a little bit early this season, at only 6-5. Some of the issues can be attributed to the fact that the team’s three best players — Dragic, Eric Bledsoe, and Isaiah Thomas — are all point guards. Dragic has admitted to such and both Bledsoe and Thomas are signed long term.
Dragic has really flourished since returning to Phoenix averaging 20 points and six assists last season while being named All-NBA Third team. The free agency crop of point guards is shaping up to be a strong one with Rajon Rondo, Reggie Jackson and Brandon Knight set to join Dragic on the open market.
