The NBA trade deadline is coming up on Thursday and the Los Angeles Lakers have been mentioned in some rumors connected to the Phoenix Suns. For the most part those rumors have concerned Suns point guard Goran Dragic, but the team may also have their eye on another Suns player.

According to USA Today’s Sam Amick, the Lakers have shown interest in Suns center Miles Plumlee:
As such, we have Suns' Miles Plumlee, who has drawn interest from Knicks & Lakers. Reluctance to take on $ for next year, but only $2.1 mil

This would definitely be a completely different move that hasn’t been expected, but Plumlee is the type of player the Lakers are likely to acquire if they were to make a move by the trade deadline.
The team doesn’t have the assets to acquire a big-name player so guys like Plumlee, young and full of potential, are more feasible targets. The Lakers made a similar move last year in acquiring Kent Bazemore and MarShon Brooks.
Plumlee began the season as the Suns’ starting center before losing his spot to Alex Len. Last season, he averaged about eight points and eight rebounds in 80 games, but has seen those numbers fall this season as his minutes have decreased. It is unclear who the Lakers would give up in such a deal, but the team already has a pretty crowded frontcourt with Jordan Hill, Ed Davis, Carlos Boozer and Tarik Black all taking up minutes.
