The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in signing free-agent guard Mickael Pietrus in an effort to improve their sub-par bench. The reserves have been very inconsistent this season and even though players like Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks played well in recent games, the front office needs to bring in talented reserves.
According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers have inquired about Pietrus along with other free-agent guards.

Pietrus last played for the Boston Celtics and was an important piece to their deep playoff run last season. Pietrus has the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter and can also lock down on opponents’ top scorers. The Lakers already have a dangerous defensive lineup, but adding Pietrus will only make them stronger.
Last season with the Celtics, Pietrus averaged 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 33 percent shooting from the three-point arc.
