With the free agency period officially beginning at 9:00 PM Saturday night, General Managers around the league were on their phones attempting to lure in free agents to improve their team.
The first player Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak reached out to was point guard Ramon Sessions, who opted out of his contract to test the free agent waters after spending the second half of the season in Los Angeles.
According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times, Kupchak reached out to Sessions’ agent in hopes of working out a new deal.

Kupchak had previously mentioned that the team’s main priority in the off-season was re-signing Sessions, and it looks like he is sticking to his story thus far.
