Byron Scott said that his coaching staff should begin taking shape this week, and now that seems to be the case as former Sacramento Kings assistant Jim Eyen will join Scott’s staff according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne:

Eyen has been around the NBA for a long time. He has spent 22 years as an assistant coach in the NBA, most recently with the Sacramento Kings under Mike Malone. Eyen also has experience in Los Angeles.

He originally started as an assistant with the Clippers in 1988 before joining Pat Riley’s staff with the Lakers the following year, spending three total seasons with the team.

Eyen would return to Los Angeles when Mike Dunleavy was named head coach of the Clippers in 2003, spending six seasons.

There is no word on who else will join the Lakers staff at this time, though rumors said that former Seattle SuperSonics and Lakers point guard, Gary Payton is a possibility.
