With a young core led by Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle, and when he’s been able to play, Lonzo Ball, the Los Angeles Lakers have entertained this season, and byproduct has been a significant TV ratings increase for Spectrum SportsNet.

When compared to last season’s rolling average, the network’s household ratings for live Lakers games are up 11 percent (1.82 vs. 1.64). Moreover, Spectrum SportsNet has seen a 22 percent increase (1.82 vs. 1.49) when compared to the 2016-17 final season average.

It can be presumed the spike is in part due to marquee games with the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder, among others.

Household ratings for “Access SportsNet: Lakers” pregame shows this season are up 30 percent (0.30 vs. 0.23) compared to both last season’s rolling average and the 2016-17 final season average.

Fans are also enjoying postgame programming, evident by a 38 percent increase (0.69 vs. 0.5) in household ratings, compared to the 2016-17 rolling average, and a 41 percent jump (0.69 vs. 0.49) from last year’s end-of-season average.

Meanwhile, Spectrum SportsNet has experienced the largest spike in household ratings for “Backstage: Lakers” premieres this season. Metrics are up 190 percent (0.29 vs. 0.10) compared to the 2016-17 rolling average and the 2016-17 final season average.

Beyond the Lakers being an improved product on the court, Spectrum SportsNet continues to provide fans with comprehensive coverage of the team. Their pre- and postgame shows this season have featured new additions Mike Bresnahan and Caron Butler, who combined to further strengthen the network’s production.
