At last week’s NBA Draft the Los Angeles Lakers added multiple young pieces to their already promising core. None were bigger, or more anticipated, than point guard Lonzo Ball.

For months now Ball had been spoken about as being the perfect player for the Lakers style and his father, LaVar, has been open about his son wanting to stay in Los Angeles. Lonzo himself had also admitted that it was his dream to be a Laker.

Now that everything has come to fruition, the pressure for Ball to perform will be through the roof. President of basketball operations Magic Johnson called Ball the new face of the franchise and challenged him to one day have his jersey hanging in the rafters.

Fans are also getting on board with one, in particular, making some personal changes to a previous jersey he already owned.

The fan took his Kobe Bryant jersey number 24 jersey, covered up the four and the last name (except the letter B) with duct tape, and wrote in ‘all’ after the B, effectively turning a Kobe jersey into a Ball jersey.

The Lakers have been looking for the next great star since Kobe Bryant retired and Ball very well may be that guy. He has the passing, court vision, and basketball IQ to make all his teammates better. He along with Brandon Ingram could be the next great Lakers duo.

Whether or not Lonzo ultimately lives up to expectations remains to be seen, but the fans seem to be behind him already.
