Lakers Video: Magic Johnson Jokes In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Spot During NBA Finals

Professional athletes provide vibrant personalities and an understanding of being on camera, one reason why they translate well into various business and television opportunities. Athletes such as Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson run successful business firms, while providing a signature smile and charismatic personalities on camera.

The 2017 NBA Finals are a premiere stage to feature promotions for various shows and movies, with a majority of the NBA fan base watching. High grossing movies centered around Marvel and ‘The Avengers’ have formed a mutual partnership with ESPN and the NBA, in order to create hilarious and interesting commercials for the audience.

Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals, between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, featured a slot for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’. The movie features both Spider-Man and Iron Man working in unison, with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) having a hilarious exchange with Johnson.

The somewhat young and juvenile character arrives at a fancy party, where he is star struck by the five-time champion. He actually confuses the current President of Basketball Operations and former Lakers player for Michael Jordan, to which Johnson gives a hilarious reply. Johnson then directs the young superhero over to future Hall-of-Famer Tim Duncan, while giving him a box of classic crackers.

Although Johnson remains busy evaluating the various draft prospects and participating in panel interviews, he still has time to put together various cameo appearances with his contagious personality.

The Lakers face an upcoming fork in the road, with the new front office capitalizing on the lottery pick they were fortunate enough to keep. While Johnson and Rob Pelinka remain determined to instill the new era of successful basketball in Los Angeles, they also can relish the territory that comes with the being the media capital of the world.
