The Los Angeles Lakers put up a decent fight against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, before ultimately losing by 12 points. Nick Young scored a season-high 40 points in the loss, hitting his first eight shots from the field. Just three points short of his career-high, Young says he was “in the zone” tonight and Steve Nash was a big part of that.

The story going into the game was Chris Kaman starting alongside Pau Gasol for the first time since the very beginning of the season. With Gasol still struggling to recover from vertigo, the Spaniard said he did not feel confident on the court tonight and is unsure whether he should have played. His status against the Sacramento Kings is uncertain. Mike D’Antoni, Kaman and Gasol were all vocal and in agreement that there were plenty of flaws to the big man duo on Tuesday night.

Steve Nash also returned from injury and was productive in his limited role, but again left the game with an ankle injury and calf bruise. Surprisingly, Nash returned to finish the game, despite a swollen ankle. After the game, Nash says he “had a blast” on the court, but doubts he’ll play tomorrow against the Sacramento Kings.
